Despite the cold weather, Nathaniel has been keeping us busy this past month with friends, travel, and lots of time with family.

As far as looks, there really isn't much of a change over last month. He's still adorable.
Nathaniel was thrilled to be able to go to preschool this past month for Edmund's Valentine's party. Nathaniel always wants to go to preschool with Edmund, so he was happy as a clam following him along for the day. Edmund shared both his crafts and his snacks with little brother so he didn't feel left out. He had so much fun that they next time Edmund had class, Nathaniel screamed that he wanted to play the entire way back out to the car.

Another way we have been fighting the winter blues is to go to play time at a local church. It has not only been a great way for the boys to burn up some energy, it has also been a great teaching experience for sharing, waiting in line, and taking turns since there are a lot of kids and the toys are not always available when they want to use them. Despite a scare when Nathaniel left the room behind another mom and nobody noticed (not mom either since she trying to keep her eye on both him and Edmund on opposite sides of the room). He was found eating a snack in the snack room luckily, and mom did not die of a heart attack, luckily.
Even though it has been cold outside, we have still been trying to get outside when we can. Nathaniel had time this past month to be pulled outside on the sled, help shovel, and build a snowman. It was warm enough on MLK day that we actually went to the zoo. Dad had the day off from work so he came with.

We made a trip to Indiana this past month for his cousins' dedications. It was a quick trip, but the boys always love spending time with family and enjoy playing with their aunt Mia.
We love hearing Nathaniel talk. He is such a chatty kid. While he usually speaks in two word clumps, he is already talking in short sentences. Some of the things we hear him say most often are:
"Oh no!Where marble go?"
"Mama! Bath now pweese!"
"Guh night daddy."
He doesn't like to wave hello to people, but likes to wave goodbye. He tends to try to burrow his head into mom when meeting new people but only takes a few minutes to warm up. She calls it the ostrich effect. Mom things it is because he is worried that he might be left with them and is always happy since goodbye means that they are going away.
Nathaniel is a great helper. He loves to help with sweeping, mixing anything mom will let him at dinner, helping pour ingredients for pancakes, and "folding" laundry which typically is unfolding and balling the clothes and putting them back in the basket (bless him - at least he tries). We think he has picked it up from brother, as he also likes to help. Nathaniel pretty much wants to do whatever Edmund is doing. He is our little "me too".
