first steps

We love watching Edmund practicing walking. He is becoming more and more daring as he slowly increases the number of steps he can take. The determination that comes across his little face is priceless as he fearlessly lets go of the ledge and plunges forward until he eventually falls down. But, he doesn’t stay down. He gets back up again, eager to give it another try and sure that next time he will travel a bit farther.

It is a sweet reminder of things to come for him and for our own lives. Learning to walk is a lot like our own walks with Christ. We falter, stumble, fall, and with some help, get back up again and continue onward. It takes faith and courage to take the next step, not knowing what is ahead, not knowing the next time that we will fall down and have to get back up again.

“So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:6-7)
Praying that God will continue to lovingly help Edmund and all of us to faithfully walk with Him.
