Our dearest Edmund turns one year old today. We are not going to say
that this year went by fast, because it seems like a lifetime ago that we took this beautiful little boy home from the hospital. Perhaps it has been 100 years or more since we stared at each other wondering if we were going to make it through the sleep deprived first weeks. Our lives have become so intertwined with this little guy's that there is no separation that could ever break the love that we have for him.
Highlight - Edmund started walking around while holding onto objects.

Looking back at this year, we would like to share one highlight from each month, along with a picture to share with you the growth that is accomplished in that amazing first year. (We also included the link to each month’s update in case you wanted to check it out.)
Month 1

Highlight - Edmund started walking and is celebrating his first birthday!
The change in Edmund's appearance has slowed down. It seemed like every month there were considerable changes in the way he looked. This month he gained a bit more hair. We are sure he got a bit taller and weighs a bit more, but that is it.
Look out world, Edmund is on the move! It might have taken a month and a half from his first steps, but he is now walking. He keeps his little arms up like Frankenstein to keep his balance, which is pretty funny to watch. It won't be long before he is running like his cousin Kellan.
Edmund celebrated his first 4th of July. Although we didn't stay up late enough to watch the fireworks, we did have some friends over and grilled out. Also, on the 4th, Edmund got his very first hair cut. It was more of a trim than a cut, but we needed to even out some of the extra long pieces on top with his super short sides. He looks much better without his little comb over.

Edmund also had his first vacation this past month. We have taken trips as a family to visit Indiana and Minnesota, but this was our first real vacation as a family of three. We went hiking in Glacier National Park in Montana. (You can read more about it under our travel page if you are interested.)
We would like to thank you God for blessing us with such an amazing son. Thank you for making him strong and fearless and living up to his name even at such a young age. We pray that you would continue to pour your blessings on this child and that he would know you and follow you all the days you bless him with on this earth.
Thank you also to you for being invested in our lives and for celebrating this milestone with us!
