Once again, we are excited for another holiday because it means that it is the first for Edmund. We are sure we will be even more excited next year when he has the potential to grasp even more the importance of certain holidays, especially Easter. The Lenten season is hard to appreciate when you are this young, but we spent time discussing with him the importance of preparing our hearts for the death and resurrection of Jesus. Edmund just drooled and looked at us with his typical stoic face.
This year, we made the trip to Grammy and Grandpa Grashorn’s house to celebrate. We had a good time and it is always nice for Edmund to see his extended family. He misses his Grammy and Grandpa! We dyed Easter eggs (again), watched The Muppets movie about five times, ate good food, and hung out.

On Easter Sunday, we got up and went to church as a family. Edmund looked quite dapper in his little Easter outfit. He gets his fashion sense from his dad. We had a “low key” dinner at the Grashorn house. We say that kiddingly, because when you have 8 children and two grandchildren, there are more than enough people to make a large party.

Edmund was also spoiled with some Easter presents. Even though that is not the purpose of Easter, we didn’t want him to feel left out. In his basket he found dad’s favorite candy (which I am sure he will share with him because mom won’t let him eat any of it) and his very first bubbles. Grandma and Grandma Plantenberg also sent him a fun package with his own little laptop in it, candy, and sunglasses. He loves his new “computer”, which is no surprise based on the fact that Edmund sees mom and dad on their laptops.

We love that we are able to spend holidays surrounded by family and people that we love. We were blessed with a wonderful first Easter with our son.
