Nathaniel is now 9 months old. We can't believe that's 3/4 of a year. He is showing more of his personality and growing so much. Here are some of the highlights from this past month.
Nathaniel's looks are changing. With his four teeth almost all in and more on the way, he has such a cute toothy grin. His hair is ridiculously thick, making it almost impossible to cut. Mom does the best she can, although the poor boy looks like he fell out of the Beatles. His eyes are a beautiful light blue and his eyelashes keep getting longer and thicker.
He had his 9 month appointment today, and the lucky boy didn't need to get any shots. He is currently at the 92% for weight and the 99% for height. We already knew he was a big boy, based on the size of his thighs and that he is currently wearing 12-18 month clothes. He just wants to keep up with Edmund.
With last month being a crazy amount of traveling, this month has been pretty low key. It has been snowy and cold outside, so we have spent a lot of time indoors playing and hanging out. That means lots of playing with big brother, getting into all of the cupboards, and music time where Nathaniel likes to drum and bounce on his knees to the beat. He also has enjoyed splashing around in the bath as a way to beat the cold winter days.
We had a fun time celebrated Valentine's day together. Nathaniel got a cloth book to play with.
Nathaniel is now eating 3 meals a day. We moved him up a few weeks ago because he was always hungry and wasn't happy with just milk. He is eating around 12-16 ounces a day of fruits, vegetables, and grains with meat on the horizon. He has also become quite good at using his pincer grasp to pick up Cheerios, puffs, and avocado. We will be working also on giving him more of his food as soft solids so that he can start to self feed.
Nathaniel really wants to walk. He is pulling himself up on everything and letting go to see how long he can stand there. He will then slowly sit down when his legs are tired. It's an impressive amount of muscle control. Right now he can stand unsupported for about 10 seconds.
Looking forward to warmer weather, less time in the house, and more fun with our littlest boy.

Nathaniel's favorite thing is to do whatever brother is doing. Edmund is a good big brother and usually lets him play along. It is a joy to watch them play together.
They so far are good friends, although Edmund sometimes gets annoyed and we can hear him shouting "No no baby guy! No! Thaniel No!".
