It's that time of year again. The time of year where almost all of the holidays are contained within a 60 day window. It's our favorite time of year because we love fall and we can feel the approach of the Christmas season.
This year, Edmund was big enough to enjoy the first of the holidays, Halloween, with us. We did dress him up last year. He was just a little 3 month old, and we dressed him up as a bumble bee. It was one of the few costumes in his size at Once Upon A Child and mom knew it was supposed to be cold and she wanted to make sure he was warm enough so a costume shaped like a sleeping bag seemed perfect. We went over to our friend's house and only went to a few houses, but it was fun to say we did it.

This year we took Edmund to the pumpkin patch. We waited for the weekend before Halloween because the weekend prior it was 80 degrees out and dad said it was too warm. Well, it was instead raining and FREEZING the entire weekend. Needless to say, we zipped in quick, mom stood under the tent with Edmund while dad quickly picked out a pumpkin.

We then headed home to carve our pumpkin and have our roast chicken dinner which we have on pumpkin carving night. Edmund wanted to help dad this year.

It was then time for Halloween night. We had tons of candy and Edmund had his costume on. We dressed him up as Carl Fredricksen (the old man) from Up.

Edmund HATED wearing the glasses so it's a miracle we got a picture of him not crying because most of the time he looked like this, with big alligator tears ready to stream down his little cheeks.

Edmund, with his little bucket in his hands, was eager to go trick or treating. He also really liked having the balloons tied to him for some reason. We thought he wouldn't based on his dislike for the glasses, but the balloons were just fine.
It was a cold rainy night so we didn't go out for long. We went to the neighbors houses that we knew to show off Edmund's outfit and for Edmund to get some candy. We are pretty sure this is one of our last years in which we will get away with eating all of Edmund's Halloween candy, not that he had much of it.

Surprisingly, Edmund LOVED it. He would eagerly bang on people's doors with his little bucket in his hands. Our neighbors let him pick out his own candy which he carefully did and dropped into his bucket. He also kept trying to go into people's houses, we think because he was curious and because it looked warm inside.

We then headed home and continued to hand out candy to the neighbor kids. It was our first year doing that since we have always lived in apartments and it was fun. We estimate we had somewhere around 100 kids stop by!
We skyped with both sides of the family briefly to wish them a Happy Halloween and then it was off to bed for Edmund while mom and dad watched It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
It was a wonderful and happy Halloween!
