Our sweet Clara Rose is seven years old.
What a joy it is to watch this darling girl grow up year after year. She is independent and always has her own opinion on things. She is such a bright, joyful, has a stubborn streak, and sometimes a little sassy.
Appearance
At seven years, Clara is such a beauty. Clara has long, thick, chestnut brown hair. It requires zero maintenance to look magnificent. She mostly likes to keep it pulled back so that it is out of her face. She has large, round brown eyes that are framed by dark lashes. Her skin is a light olive shade so she always looks a tan, just like her dad. She has a sweet smile and has finally lost some of her baby teeth. No more little teeth smile for this girl!
Personality
Clara has a big personality. She has always had a lot of energy and a lot to say. She is very bright and has a big vocabulary, probably from her reading and just naturally being interested in conversation. She notices things, especially what people are wearing. She has an excellent memory and remembers everyone's name.
Clara is our social butterfly. She loves people, especially her family and friends. While she can often be shy around strangers, once she is comfortable, she does not stop talking. She also has a fairly high social IQ. She can read people's feelings and she cares when people are crying and wants to make people feel better.
Clara is a helper. She loves being included and feeling like she is valued. She wants to feel like when she is helping, that she is actually making a difference. She loves helping mom cook dinner or bake and take care of her garden, especially picking produce.
Clara is musical. This girl loves to sing. She loves sing songs while listening to her music player. She listens while spinning in the toy room. She loves Rend Collective, Charlie Hope, Howie Day, and Coldplay. Whenever she hears a song she doesn't know, she tries to sing along. She picks up on lyrics easily so if she hears it a few times. She isn't always on key but she is always earnest.
Clara is overall a rule follower. While this doesn't mean that she does everything we ask her to do, there are many rules that we have told her that she adheres to without question. She always makes sure she is buckled well into her car seat or Emma isn't getting into anything.
Clara is artistic. She has really developed a love of drawing and coloring. She colors better than her brothers, despite being younger. She loves being creative and making pictures to give as gifts for others. She especially loves making paper books and writing about different topics. She also enjoys doing any sort of art crafts or kits.

Clara had her second year of dance this last year. She decided to do ballet instead of tap this year at Straub for dance. She also started first grade at Walnut Creek Elementary. She started her first year in Girl Scouts as a Daisy. She also finished her first year on swim team for the Highland Otters.

What another wonderful year with our sweet Clarabelle. It has been a gift to watch her grow. She is funny and bright. We love hearing her laugh and play with her sister. We love hearing her voice sing around the house. She brings so much joy to our home. While she can be so very challenging and strong willed, we know she is destined for amazing things. Thank you Jesus for making her the way that she is - funny, sweet, curious, and strong. We thank you for the way she loves others and is always thinking of gifts to give others and her generosity in sharing. We thank you for her charm, her willingness to help others, and her love for her family. We pray that you would continue to pour your blessing on her. That she would grow up strong and bright. We pray that she would know and love you, Jesus, and follow you. Amen!
