nathaniel at 1 years 11 months

It's the final month before Nathaniel turns the big 2. We think this is the point where we start to cry as we realize that Nathaniel really isn't our "baby guy" anymore. He's a big guy, so we have started to try to just call him Nathaniel, or as he calls himself "Saniel".

Nathaniel got his hair chopped off this month. Mom cut it much shorter because he was getting too warm outside because it is so thick. He stays much cooler with it cropped.

This month was spent celebrating Easter with our little family. It was much more quiet than we expected since we all had a horrible respiratory cold that we were getting over. We ended up not traveling to the Grashorns because of it and made a leg of lamb at home. Our friends Rick and Lauren were kind enough to brave the sickness to join us. It was overall a wonderful day reflecting on Christ rising from the dead. Nathaniel enjoyed opening his Easter basket which contained candy and a book of bible stories. He also got an Easter box from Gramma and Papa which contained hats, candy, and a few other trinkets. The boys always love getting packages in the mail, so it was a huge hit. The boys also had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Edmund ended up collecting most of the eggs, but we divided them evenly when it was all over. We had already dyed Easter eggs and we made resurrection cookies to enjoy. They are Nathaniels' favorite because he loves cookies with frosting and sprinkles.

With the weather finally warming up but rainy, we have still had to spend many days indoors. We color, play with kinetic sand, play dough, practice our letters, play with trains, build towers, you name it. Our neighbors got one of their trees chopped down which was a full hour of entertainment watching them cut it and grind it. When we do get outdoors, the Nathaniel love making the walk over to the local park, digging in the dirt, watering plants, riding the tricycle, and playing in their cozy coup fire truck. We have been able to get out to the zoo and have a few play dates with friends.

We are looking forward to one final month with our "one" year old.
