anniversary tradition

Something that Eric and I both decided to do independently was buy presents using the traditional anniversary list. It has been fun to find creative presents each year to celebrate our marriage. Here is a list of what we have done. Hopefully, it can inspire others to do something similar.

Year 1: Paper
Eric bought Anna: A journal.
Anna bought Eric: Painted him a picture of France.

Year 2: Cotton
Eric bought Anna: Autumn table place mats and a cotton lined basket.
Anna bought Eric: A guitar t-shirt.

Year 3: Leather
Eric bought Anna: A brown leather purse.
Anna bought Eric: Gloves.

Year 4: Silk
Eric bought Anna: A scarf.
Anna bought Eric: A tie.

Year 5: Wood
Eric bought Anna: A jewelry box.
Anna bought Eric: Wooden trivets, cheese cutting board, and wooden utensils.

Year 6: Iron
Eric bought Anna: Iron coat tree.
Anna bought Eric: Hematite (iron (III) oxide) tie clip.

Year 7: Wool
Eric bought Anna: A black coat.
Anna bought Eric: A gray dress suit.

Year 8: Bronze
Eric bought Anna: Roman coin earrings, woman's bust necklace, Himalayan sea salt mortar & pestle
Anna bought Eric: Grant Fossil watch

Year 9: Pottery (leather, modern)
Eric bought Anna: Le Creuset baking dish
Anna bought Eric: Leather belt

Year 10: (tin, aluminum)
Eric bought Anna: jewelry tree

Year 11: Steel
Eric bought Anna: Tree jewelry tree

Year 12: (silk/linen)
