nathaniel at 7 months

Nathaniel is now 7 months old. It's amazing how big this boy is getting.

Nathaniel is a little over 20 pounds and is currently wearing 12 month clothes, which has meant that we had to purchase some new things since Edmund wasn't wearing 12 month clothes until the spring. He still has ridiculous hair, and had his millionth hair cut this past month. (Kidding, but he has had more than we could keep count of.) We are in love with his round cheeks and little heart shaped lips.

He now has 3 teeth, getting his top left tooth in a week ago. He has been teething for a few weeks now and seems to be getting less grumpy after it popped through. We are sure there are a few more that will be coming soon since they seem to come in pairs.

Nathaniel also had his first trip out of state to visit grammy and papa Grashorn for Thanksgiving. He had a great time eating sweet potatoes, getting snuggles from everyone, getting the family Christmas tree, and being thankful for all of the blessings in our lives.

Nathaniel has begun to be a good eater. He wasn't so sure about eating at first and would often push the food out of his mouth with this tongue. We don't think he was doing it on purpose, he just wasn't quite sure what to do with it. It was a bit ironic since he kept grabbing things off of our plates, we thought he would be really interesting in eating. He now gobbles up as much food as mom will give him. She just needs to make sure she watches out for his fists of fury which he swings around while eating. So far he has eaten brown rice cereal, peas, avocado, sweet potato, apple, banana, and squash.

Nathaniel started crawling this month. (Crazy, right?) He's now on the move, getting into everything. He likes to crawl up the step from the living room to the kitchen since we have a sunken living room. He also tries to get every electrical cord. With crawling he also has become an expert at sitting. Last month he was still pretty wobbly, but now he's much better at sitting for extended periods of time. He can even get to the sitting position from his tummy. He is also pulling himself up on things and standing. We hope he slows down a bit and doesn't walk too soon!

We have been having a blast celebrating the Christmas season this year. We have been doing our own version of the 25 days of Christmas, celebrating each day with a scripture verse from our scripture chain and having a fun Christmas themed activity for each day. Edmund has been loving it, and Nathaniel will hopefully enjoy it more rather than just being dragged along for the ride. He did enjoy his first trip to see Santa.

The holidays are here and this coming month is a crazy one with lots of family and friends. Looking forward to see what they hold as we prepare our hearts for celebrating the birth of Christ.
