nathaniel at 3 months

Nathaniel is now three months old. It's crazy to see how much he has changed since we brought him home from the hospital just a few months ago. Babies grow fast and we are trying to take in every moment.
mr. inquisitive
Nathaniel is at such a sweet age. He craves attention and loves looking at faces and having people talk to him. He chatters back, smiles, giggles, and goos at any sort of attention, which of course makes us want to give him even more.

As far as looks, he's obviously bigger. He's a good sized boy, probably somewhere between 16 and 17 lbs since he was almost 15 at his 2 month appointment. He has a sweet little double chin when he smiles, which comes out as he presses his face against his chest. He also has cute little rolls in his arms and legs. He still has a ton of hair and is going to be due for another hair trimming soon to control it. His eyes are a pretty sky blue, although we think that they will turn hazel over time.

His favorite things are:
  • looking at people's faces
  • falling asleep in the Ergo carrier
  • being outside
  • playing in his play gym
His latest trick he has learned is how to roll over onto his side. He also likes to squirm and rotate while he is playing by kicking his legs. This has cause the unfortunate scenario of him knocking over his play gym while he's in it. He doesn't seem to mind, though, and continues to shake his fists at everything, looking like a tiny boxer.

He also loves sucking on his fists, which he does just for fun and when he's hungry.

The whole sleeping thing has been going pretty well and we have him on a "schedule" that is working as well as can be hoped. He goes to bed between 10 and 11 pm, wakes up at 4 to eat, and then wakes up again around 7:30. His nap schedule isn't consistent yet, but he will typically go down for one good 90 minute nap in the middle of the day.

He is a good natured baby and puts up with the constant love that his big brother gives him. Edmund loves to kiss him, squeeze his belly, and unfortunately show us his eyes by poking at them. He loves to be involved where the action is, which will serve him well being a part of our crazy family.
three boys and one story
We had a few fun family firsts with him this month. We took Nathaniel to the zoo, to his first concert in the park, celebrated his first birthday party with big brother, and his first trip to Trader Joe's and Target. We also had fun play dates with friends and many morning walks to the park.
at the zoo. zzzzzz.
Looking forward to more family fun.
